You Could Make This Beautiful

Hi, Friend.

I love hosting The Slowdown, sharing a poem and a reflection with you each weekday, and I’m delighted to be returning for one more season, too! But I also have something very different in development right now that I’m excited for you to hear: a new podcast series I’m making with WBUR (Boston’s NPR). It’s called You Could Make This Beautiful, and I’m co-hosting it with my friend Faith Salie, who you probably know from CBS Sunday Morning and NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!

On the show Faith and I talk about poems and poetry in all its forms—music, art, nature, everyday experiences that catch us by surprise—with actors, comedians, and, of course, poets. The three episodes we’ve made thus far feature Henry Winkler, Mike Birbiglia and J. Hope Stein, Peter Sagal, Saeed Jones, Stephanie Burt, and more.

We have a short teaser out now, and all three episodes will come out tomorrow, August 7th!
