Happy National Poetry Month! (Let’s be real, though: Every month is poetry month in this house. Period.) Last month I wrote about one of my poetry mentors, the late David Citino. Reflecting on my time with David, I remembered one of the regular prompts he gave us in workshop. It always yielded something unexpected and charged, something I wouldn't have accessed otherwise.

I hope between the prompt and the poems and books I’m linking to below, you’ll build some creative momentum with a new poem (or two! or four!) this month.
