I'm in the middle of reading Paul Auster's The Invention of Solitude. An amazing memoir, hybrid before that became a thing?, so thoughtful and thought-provoking. I'm learning so much about craft as I read, and also about love and life and remembering a difficult father.

Every holiday season it makes me happy to re-watch Elf. So happy and cozy.

So many great ideas! I didn’t know Mitzi has a new album out, adding to my list now (I’m a one-for-you-one-for-me kind of Christmas shopper!). I’ve seen 100 Foot Wave, it’s incredible. My To Read List includes Biomimicry by Janine Benyus and Leslie Marmon Silko’s Ceremony, which I’d forgotten I bought during an amazing retreat with the amazing Pam Houston. I found it again in a moving box in my basement while searching for the Cuisinart 🤷🏻‍♀️

Happy merry everything to you Maggie!

I read Olga Ravn's remarkable book & also gave it to my daughter. I'm rereading it over the long holiday weekend alongside Serhiy Zhadan's "How Fire Descends" - New & Selected Poems.

Thanks for sharing your holiday list! I have a soft spot for Sarah McLachlan's Wintersong album so I'm happy to have something to branch out with! My oldest introduced me to Mitski and my life is better for it. I just read an amazing piece in the NYT's modern love and am so interested to read the Zoe Fowler's hybrid memoir. I feel like a lot of sobriety memoirs have been published but I love the idea of reading about loving an addict and bringing in the story of Al-Anon. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/24/style/modern-love-my-husband-left-first-then-my-stuff.html

I also recently read a novel called Speech Team and found it fascinating on many levels.
