Ditto on the soccer joy. I went to my son's first soccer game today after several years of baseball. Love love love sitting in the folding chair in the sun rays and breeze and watching the kids scatter around the field, dashing and halting and chasing and kicking and cheering. He walked off the field sweaty and pink-faced with an enormous grin. So fun!
I recently got a cd player again because I didn’t have anything to listen to all my old cd’s on. It’s honestly great and also a little weird bc I ONLY have those old cd’s, no new ones, so I’m right back in ages 15-30 and no further!
That's wonderful and it was the only thing holding me back. So you might want to add that to your posts about pre ordering. 🙂 Cos there's something super special about a signed copy especially if I don't know if you'll be in Chicago...like last Spring was it?
And also I just have to tell someone last night I found out I got a poem accepted for Gyroscope's fall "Crone" special issue! At 56 I'm embracing the concept!
I am getting deep, weird delight (joy? approximate joy?) from Cosmo Sheldrake's 2024 album Eye To The Ear. It might not be your type of thing (?), but if it *is* your type of thing you will be so thankful to have found it.
I love love that you wrote the bio for Nada Surf's new record. As contemporaries of theirs in college, they have been a soundtrack of my life as well. Certain songs take me back to specific places in my history - an apartment complex parking garage, my senior-year dorm room, a two-lane road we traveled on a road trip through New Mexico. This new album speaks to me in an intensely poignant way. As I go through a life transition and try to figure out what's next, their songs and wisdom capture how I feel, where I am at and what matters as I look toward life's second half. Thank you!
Driving 45 minutes to the beach to walk while watching the sunset. Profound joy.
Perfection!
There is nothing wrong with your hair. And you do look very happy! ❤️

The best, truly. 💗
Now that I finally have a record player again, listening to my old vinyl is bringing me so much joy. And Nick Cave’s new album ‘Wild God’ ❤️🔥
Loving it, too!

Love it Cate! I’m inspired. I have soooo many CDs and no player. 💿❤️⚡️
Would love to pre-order your exciting new book. How does one pre-order a signed copy 🤔 I'd love that!
Thanks, Lizzie! You can preorder DW from my local indie and specify that you want it signed (and how you want it personalized): https://www.gramercybooksbexley.com/book/9781982170844

Hoping to be back there in April! 🤞And huge congrats on the poem! That’s wonderful news.
Thanks Maggie! It was one of those stay up late to make submission deadline situations! Hoping that April in Chicago works out.

Wow, congratulations, Lizzie! That's awesome news! As a 45-year-old starting to dabble in poetry, that's inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Brianne. Excited for you to experience the process and the poems!

Thanks, Asha—I’ll listen!
