Minneapolis' Magers & Quinn is indeed excellent. But there are many more excellent indie bookstores in the Twin Cities, including Louise Erdrich's store Birchbark Books, Moon Palace Books, Cream & Amber, Subtext Books, and Next Chapter Books.

The life of Indie bookstores depends on customer support. I’ve had people come into my store and take pictures and then walk out and buy the books on Amazon. It could be very discouraging:(
